Polymerization of Organosilicon Oligomers

In the 1990s, silane coupling agent modified acrylate monomers became a new hotspot in the synthesis of silicone acrylic lotion. Under the condition of the existence of initiator, free radical polymerization was carried out with silicone monomers containing double bonds (silicone coupling agent) or silicone oligomers and acrylate monomers to obtain a structurally stable silicone modified acrylate lotion. The copolymer lotion has uniform particle size distribution and good film forming property. Under the condition of using di tert butyl peroxide as initiator, the organosilicon monomer Y-methacryloxypropyl Trimethoxysilane or Y-methacryloxypropyl methyl Methoxy group silane containing unsaturated double bonds was copolymerized with acrylate monomers, and a silicone acrylic resin coating with good film performance was obtained.

The research shows that the modified product of ethoxysilicone monomer shows good mechanical properties and strong water resistance after film forming and curing.
